Terms of service
Last updated October 5, 2026
By using Fairwhen, including through an AI assistant, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it.
What Fairwhen is
Fairwhen gives estimated chances that the weather will match your preferences, based on weather forecasts and statistical models. Forecasts are uncertain and change: a high chance is not a promise, and results can be wrong.
Don’t rely on it for safety
Fairwhen is a planning aid, not a weather warning service. Don’t use it to decide whether something is safe. For severe weather, follow official forecasts and warnings from the National Weather Service or your local authorities.
Your decisions and your safety
Outdoor activities carry risks that weather can affect. You decide whether, when and how to go ahead with your plans, and you take part at your own risk. Decisions you make using Fairwhen’s results are your own.
Who can use it
You must be at least 13 to use Fairwhen.
Acceptable use
Use Fairwhen for your own planning and share results as you like.
Don’t overload it, get around its rate limits, or scrape it with automated tools.
Don’t try to break into, disrupt, or copy the service or its models.
Don’t use it for anything unlawful, or put unlawful or abusive content into descriptions or shared links.
Content and data
You keep any rights to what you type. You let us use it to run the service as described in our privacy notice. Weather data comes from public and openly licensed sources, credited on the About page.
No warranty
Fairwhen is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. We may change, limit or stop the service at any time.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for decisions made using Fairwhen’s results, such as the cost of a rained-out event. Our total liability for any claim relating to Fairwhen is limited to $50. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
Indemnity
If you misuse Fairwhen or break these terms and that leads to a claim against us, you agree to cover the resulting losses and reasonable costs, including legal fees.
Changes and governing law
We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version, and continuing to use Fairwhen means you accept it. These terms are governed by the laws of California, USA.
The rest of the legal bits
These terms and our privacy notice are the whole agreement between you and us about Fairwhen. If any part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don’t enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
