Fairwhen estimates the chance of good weather for your plans. It has no accounts, and we collect as little as we can to run it. This notice explains what we handle, why, and your choices.
What we handle
Your search. The city, dates, times and weather preferences you choose, and the description you type if you use the text box. We use these to calculate your results.
Your page address. Your choices are kept in the page’s web address so reloading or sharing a link reopens the same page. Anyone you send a link to can see what it contains, including your description.
Usage analytics. Which pages you view and what you choose, device and browser type, and approximate location derived from your IP address. Outside the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland we also use a first-party cookie to recognise return visits and may record your session to improve the app, with every typed field hidden in recordings. Visits from those regions are tracked without cookies or recordings.
Feedback. Your answer when we ask whether Fairwhen helped, and any note you choose to send, stored with that visit’s analytics. Emails you send us are kept to reply to you.
Technical data. Your IP address passes through our hosting and security providers when you load the site. Our servers use it briefly, in memory only, to enforce rate limits, and our hosting provider’s estimate of your city is used to suggest one on the location step. We don’t keep access logs of visits.
Who else receives it
We use service providers to run Fairwhen, including for hosting and security, analytics, processing the description you type, finding places, and weather data. They receive only what they need to do that work for us. We don’t sell your data, share it for advertising, or use it to profile you.
Using Fairwhen through an AI assistant
When you use Fairwhen in an AI assistant such as ChatGPT, the assistant’s servers send us the place, dates, times and weather preferences for your request. We use them only to answer that request and don’t store them afterwards; we keep only a count of requests, to enforce limits.
The calendar card the assistant shows loads its drawing code from fairwhen.com in your browser. Like any web page request, that includes your IP address and browser type. We don’t store them; as with any visit, our network provider (Cloudflare) may hold them briefly in its standard short-lived logs.
Assistants may attach extra details to requests, such as your approximate location, language or an anonymous ID. We don’t use or keep them. The assistant’s own privacy policy covers what it collects.
How long we keep it
Searches are processed to answer them and not stored on our servers. Analytics are kept for up to one year, and session recordings for up to 30 days. Rate-limit counters are held in memory and reset at least daily. Emails you send us are kept as long as needed to answer them and then deleted, at most 12 months.
Your choices and rights
You can use Fairwhen without typing a description, and you can block cookies in your browser. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold, or to object to how we use it. Email [email protected] and we’ll respond within 30 days. Because we don’t have accounts, tell us roughly when you visited and from which device so we can find your data.
Children
Fairwhen isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.
Changes and contact
We’ll update this page if our practices change and revise the date above. Questions: [email protected].
